Sticky mouse pointer
 
Hi, when i start my pc, the mouse pointer on the screen sticks. I need to restart my pc a couple of times in order to correct it. i am running windows xp. i have checked the mouse driver and it says its working ok. has antone got ant ideas.

Reconnect the mouse a couple of times in case it's a mechanical problem. Try another mouse if you have one. If it's battery operated wireless, change the batteries. If it's optical, wipe the table/mat. If it's got a central scroll wheel, see if the wheel still works. If it's an antique, check for fluff in the optical wheel sensors.

Bushfiva, Ive tried all of those options already. The problem is in the start up. As soon as you get to the log on screen before you move the mouse, if that makes sense

Is it the mouse? It could be that the computer has frozen at that point.
