application launcher

everytime i boot my desktop up i get a small window
titled application launcher with a yellow warning flag and the words "unable to load configuration"

i have no idea what or where to start

running xp home with sp2 update

Go to Start/Run type msconfig look for the Start up tab and click on it
Un-tick all un-necessary programs and restart if that doesn't cure it disable the rest one by one until you find which one it is causing the problem.
