Serial Connector to USB???

Hi Guys
I have just discovered my old copy of Microsoft Flight Sim 2002. I also dug out my old Microsoft joystick. However it has the old "serial" type connector (15 pin), and does not fit my laptop. Is there a simple plug in connector to allow me to plug it into a USB port? Many thanks in advance for your help.

You may find the adaptor cost about the same as a new basic USB joystick.
