Bloody Microsoft Word!

I've loads of problems with MS Word. Often stops responding or documents will not open.
I have followed advice offered when sending error reports (fax errors etc) but cannot understand or navigate the Microsoft Update site to determine the fix required.
Any ideas if there is a one-stop update rather than trawling through the list on the Microsoft site?

You haven't said that you've uninstalled, re-booted, and re-installed Office. Is that not an option?

If not, you may spend ages trying to resolve it.

Try http://office.microsoft.com, click on the Updates (upper right for EN-US) and choose your version.

You may need your installation disk during the update. This process often fixes a variety of woes.

Good Luck!

OpenOffice 2.1 - http://download.openoffice.org/2.1.0/index.html - all the office you'll ever need, for free.

Opera 9 - http://www.opera.com/ -all the web browser you'll ever need (and a top email client), for free.

Why people continue to buy MS's overpriced stuff escapes me.

:ok:

I uses Open Office but open and save documents as Word, Excel etc. The problems related above occur when using Word on its own. I have noticed that using Open to generate docs subsequently opened with Word causes the shift of some data in "Headers & Footers" etc. I like Open Office and its free PDF function.
