Problem After Logging On.
Using WINDOWS XP.
After I logged on from the usual splash screen my desktop comes up with the usual icons displayed. Then the folder C:\WINDOWS\system32 appears with all the folders inside it displayed. Why has this happened all of a sudden and how do I stop it from happening again. |

Did you have \system32 open at sometime and close down with it still open? It may have just remembered that setting.

Matelot has the simplest answer, but you could have selected explorer to run on boot? If so it will be in the startup folder. See http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...s/autorun.mspx

I have looked in the Start Up Folder and there is no sign of it there.

Good find, Va! It often leaves me quite puzzled wondering how on earth ANYONE ever found this bug.:)
