Sim City 4 - help for a 10yr old?

A grand tragedy has occurred in my niece's life - her mother seems to have thrown away the installation code for last birthday's coveted present - Sim City 4!

Can anyone suggest any solutions other than springing for a new copy???

E-mail EA. They may have a procedure for re-issuing serials.
