ipod Battery Life
 

I have a 30Gb ipod which plays fine for about 5hrs with a fully charged battery, and the backlight used sparingly. Is this about right?. I thought it should be around 20hrs

Depends if you are watching a Movie or Listening to Music? Upto 20 hours of Music, more like 18ish, and i think 5-6 is about right for Video.

The book for my 30GB Ipod says 8 to 10 hours with music. It would be a rare thing for it to go as long as 8 hours in my experience: more like about 5.

A known "feature", I believe.

The 60GB Ipod goes for a lot longer (my daughter has one, and gets about 12-15 hours out of that).
