Phone help required

Not quite a computer issue but I'm starting to get suspicious.

I have a couple of mobile phones, one for my wife and one for myself.

My wife keeps receiving calls from a number that she doesn't know. She answers and says that they have the wrong number (no actual responce on the other end of the line) but they keep calling. If she doesn't answer they leave a message that is blank/background noise and call again. She is now at the point of screaming down the phone.
I've called my phone company and they say that they cannot block the number.
Any idea what we can do about this? (I'm in the US by the way)

Post the number on here, I'm sure after several 100 or 1000 calls at various global times they will soon get the message!
:ok:

Funny you should say that,

We're seriously considering signing them up for absolutely anything we can find on the internet that wants a phone number :E

Has the phone got the facility to reject calls from a given number? Mine has a blacklist facility for that.

Otherwise, get a whistle and blow it down the phone as loud as you can next (and last) time they call. :E :}

Assume you've googled the number to see if that gives you a clue to the source?

Do the U.S. operators not keep track on whose number it is? Here I'd just SMS the number and get the info.
