Do you guys know how many Gb it takes for a good copy (lets say 1.5 h movie) to be loaded onto the Ipod?

There is another product for MAC OSx - think it's called MoviePod , by the same people who do Connect360 as an application (cannot remember the company name, but if you look up connect360, it should come up in google or similar.)

I recently did a DVD to Ipod for my son, it was 6 episodes of Max and Paddy. I think the original DVD was something like 6.5GB and each episode came out at something like 140mb, 6x140 = 840mb, quality was excellent still on the ipod not sure what it would be like displayed on a tv, but that's not what it's for really.

Not sure if you're a Mac user (and if not why not etc) but if you are, currently the best way is to:
– download MacTheRipper (seach for it on www.versiontracker.com). – Rip the DVD to your hard disk and then get hold of Handbrake (http://handbrake.m0k.org/). – Using the instructions on http://howto.diveintomark.org/ipod-dvd-ripping-guide/ you'll end up with a file on the desktop or somewhere – drag and drop to iTunes! Alternatively you could *cough* borrow a copy of Roxio Popcorn 2.0 (not sure if its available for Windoze tho) which will do the whole thing for you... :E Hope it helps - sorry if you're not a Mac user! |
