My PC won't boot....
I'm very confused ...
The last time I used my desktop, it was behaving fine and closed itself down properly. But last night, when I turned it on, it refused to boot. It only gets as far as the second screen, which says: Press F2 to run Setup Press F11 for Boot Menu Single-Chanel Memory Mode 1024MB OK So, I pressed F11 and waited for a while, eventually getting this message: Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key So I rebooted and pressed F2 this time. Going into the boot menu I checked it was booting from the hard disk and not the floppy ... which it is. Now I've run out of ideas. The PC was built for me by a PPRuNer and it's a bit early to call him. I can't find a CD in the pile of things he gave me which looks like it's going to help me. Any thoughts?! Thanks. :) |
Loose data or power cable to the hard drive ?
Loose data cable at the Motherboard ? Dead hard drive ? Faulty power supply ? Has to be one or a combination of the above. Good Luck |
Hopefully not the dead hard drive one ...
Thanks. :ugh: |
Yeah, I concur, bios cant see hard drive, for whatever reason :)

Loose cable it seems. Didn't feel loose, but seems to work ok.
Thanks, TJ. :ok: (Sorry about the breathing) :O |
