XP 'START UP' FILE
Presumably, in the time between switching on the computer from 'cold' (or restart from 'warm') and it being fully booted up and ready to go, Windows generates a text file somewhere giving a run down on what has gone on during the process? Could somebody point me in the direction as to where I can find this.
Thanks in anticipation. |
If memory serves me right (if only!:) ) you need to select the option during boot up (F8). I think it is called 'bootlog'

The event' Log is useful viewing if you think something has gone amiss on startup.
Control Panel -> Administrative Tools under Win2K so similar in XP. |
