Problems sending emails in Thunderbird
Hi Guys,
I recently installed Mozilla Thunderbird on my second computer, having used it successfully for a long time on my main PC that's at another address. At both properties, the broadband is prvided by BT. When I came to send an email for the first time, Thunderbird kept asking me for the password to log on to the SMTP server. I know I'm using the correct password, as that's the one I use with my other computer, but for some reason it won't accept it. I tried using Outlook Express with the same settings, and that works fine at sending my email. Does anything spring to mind? It's going to be over a week before I can get back to my other PC to examine the settings in Thunderbird there. |
My settings in thunderbird tools/account settings for outgoing server are
smtp.server name.com port 25 tick in use name and password then in user name #smtp.server name.com and tick in no under use secure connection Max |
Thanks for your reply, maxell.
In fact I've just figured it out, under user name, Thunderbird had imported my broadband user name from BT, and not my email server user name! Ta!:ok: |
