Program Access and Defaults Problem
 

Hi there
Recently installed HMV digital to get music etc. When I try to open a video file it won't play. I have tried to set WMP as the default but it won't do it. I am the administrator, but set program access and defaults keep defaulting back to custom. Any ideas?

We seem to be getting a lot of problems in this forum nowadays, with stuff not playing as per the promise on the can. I get it myself too. After running around all sorts of media player, I now find that the utterly horrible Microsoft Media player is the most reliable of all.

Are there any new codecs that have been introduced into the mainstream over the last few months? That is where I have had most misery.
