Single line carried over to Last Page!!

Can anyone explain the perversity of, when you're printing from a web page, the last line of a document is invariably carried over to another page by your printer??

No, but when you print the file, select File, Print, Pages. That usually prevents the extra page being printed.

Alternatively, use File -> Print Preview, and have a look at the last page. If there is a single line left over on that page, then cancel out, change the text size (View -> Text Size) to the next size down, and then go to Print Preview again to see if that's better. If it is, print it in that size.

MS Word seems to be fond of doing that too, if you're not ultra careful just prior to committing to print.

At least with Word you can try to control it by going to Format -> Paragraph -> Line and Page Breaks (tab) and then using some combination the Widow/Orphan control, Keep lines together and Keep with next options.

Their operation may seem totally random and unpredictable, but at least there will always be some combination that stops the single line appearing on its own at the very end of the document.
