"DESKTOP" file opens on Start Up
 

For some reason, when I start the computer, the DESKTOP file opens in Notepad and remains open until I close it. This does not seem to be causing any problems but is irritating and rather strange as it has only been doing it over the past few days.

If it helps, I am using XP Home edition and AVG which is up to date and has not highlighted a virus problem.

Any ideas as to how I can prevent this from happening? Many thanks.
