Is this in the wrong forum?!

TheBeeKeeper 19th October 2005 08:24

Could be, but as a mil person I thought I'd post in a mil forum.

Others that aren't really in the correct forum?

Aerodynamics: Is mushing a myth?

Caption competition

Saddam Hussein

and numerous other..... or is it that as military people we value each others opinions and humour?

betty swallox 19th October 2005 08:55

You are definately on the wrong forum. This is a forum for MILITARY FLYING RELATED MATTERS, not for messing about with Google, fun tho it may be. I suggest that aerodanamic mushing etc has far more relevance...:\

Slartibardfarst 19th October 2005 08:56

Try "Weapons of Mass Destruction". Should still work :O

attackattackattack 19th October 2005 09:05

French Military Victories

....is an oldie but still good. There you go there's a link to things military.

Bob Viking 19th October 2005 09:52

Oh keep your knickers on!

Beekeeper,
I'm with you. If you're military, say what you like on the military forum.
Everyone else,
If you don't like it don't read it! Simple really.
If having read it and you don't approve, just accept that others might!
Edited to pre empt a reply from the loser bighed sat next to me!
Re edited to say......LOSER! Beat you to it!
BV:E

bighedsmallface 19th October 2005 09:57

but.........

BV - How will I know I don't like it if I don't read it?

;)

How can it be preemptive if you do it after my post?

Retires to pedants corner to await next semantic infringment.

Bob Viking 19th October 2005 10:00

A challenge

See if you can work out the time line on posts and edits from that last exchange then.
Or am I just wasting precious space on the military forum now?!

This is NOT the mil forum. Its the Military aircrew forum.....so, if you are not or do not aspire to be aircrew then its not for you

Purr Harder 19th October 2005 12:53

Er Southside wind your neck in flyboy

'A forum for the professionals who fly the non-civilian hardware, and the backroom boys and girls without whom nothing would leave the ground. Army, Navy and Airforces of the World, all equally welcome here'

:ok:

tonkatechie 19th October 2005 14:58

Attention to detail please (see entry above, well done Purr Harder).

Talking Radalt 19th October 2005 15:07

Other great Google Lucky Strikes include

"liar" ("pages from the UK only")

"Germans with a sense of humour"

and the classic:

"sexy military aircrew"

(And yeah, it's a forum for the use of military aviation folk, not about them. )

Well done on finding this thread but, have you actually read it?!
I think you'll find that was actually the idea with which this thread was conceived!

southside 19th October 2005 17:22

So thats Aircrew allowed, and backroom boys. Thats not maintainers, smellies or engineers. They have their own forum at www.spannersrusweekly.com

Talking Radalt 19th October 2005 17:58

Tried www.ratemywankingtechnique.com yet southside?

Interesting that over in "Cabin Crew" you refer to a recent "business trip" to Scotland.
So just how military are you?! :suspect:
Go on, try and kid us all you were jetting back to High Wycombe or somewhere after a high powered, promotion-be-damned, no-punches-pulled, that-showed-em meeting at Leuchars. :hmm:

Elmlea 19th October 2005 18:56

As a brief moment of comedy relief, this seems like a good time to point out that "Army Air Corps" is an anagram of "Sorry, I am crap."

:}

Purr Harder 19th October 2005 20:27

Southside you are a prize ass, I suspect you are 14 and in the Air cadets

Safety_Helmut 19th October 2005 21:20

Purr Harder

I suspect you may be getting uncomfortably close to the truth !

mutt 20th October 2005 04:22

Try google, type "failure" and I'm feeling lucky.

Will bring you to

So just who are these backroom boys without whom the hardware wouldn't get off the ground????

If you are the best ambassador that military aircrew have to offer then I think I would rather aspire to stack shelves in Tesco:yuk:

Flap62 20th October 2005 08:09

As a C130 techie, I thought you did aspire to stack shelves in Tesco!

StopStart 20th October 2005 08:18

At the risk of breaking up another pointless pprune cock waving contest it's reaching that point where somebody suggests typing "failure" into Google. The results are just hilarious.....

southside 20th October 2005 10:48

Hey thats cool. I didn't realise that the man flew the F-102 (and survived) Cool, he gets my vote just for that.

C130 Techie 20th October 2005 11:13

Flap62

Thats harsh!

Talking Radalt 20th October 2005 11:23

Too right it's harsh! Tesco's have an image to think of too yer know :E

Flap62 20th October 2005 12:12

After reading about servicing issues at Lyneham I couldn't resist having a pop, sorry!

Data-Lynx 20th October 2005 12:54

Justified on the premise that much of this thread tweaks an ex FJ jockey (Reserve) elevated to CinC, this particular example of a low thick shrub without a distinct trunk is being bombed. In googlebombing, determined web geeks use the phrases [failure] and [miserable failure] to describe and link to certain websites, thus radically increasing the number and relative popularity of the sites and pushing them to the top of searches for those phrases.
Another measure is to seed unsuspecting Chat and discussion nets with the same suggestion in order to push up the number of hits. Oh :ugh:
