Cannot Print my Emails or Web site
 

Help me please!!!

I can print my pictures and I can print from word but when I try to print an email or a page from the web I get a Internet Explorer Script Error.

I have called the helpline for my printer but they are a waste of time.

Please, please can someone help?

Thanks but I've tried all that and it still doesn't work.

I have noticed that when I press print preview I get the same error.

What version of Web browser have you got?

I've got version 6 with service pack 2 installed. The problem also occurs when I try to print using the AOL browser. As I said before, if I try to print using word it prints fine.

Someone help! Please.

1) Open a new notepad session, to be called IE_fix.cmd, and copy/paste the below:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll
regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Msjava.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Browseui.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll

Save the file (as IE_fix.cmd), then double click IE_fix.cmd from where ever you saved it. Desktop is easiest. Answer the prompts. Ignore any error messages.

Reboot and test again.


2) Uncheck "Enable 3rd party party browser extensions" from Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced Tab and then restart Internet Explorer

HB. Nothing personal but the advice I have given is guaranteed to work. The links others have provided is legitimate too. I just simply find it absolutely impossilbe that those things have not worked, as there is nothing else that can be done with regard to complicated CMD protocols, to changing cookie settings and god knows what else...

Have you REALLY viewed the links and followed steps correctly? Can you do them again? Simply impossible for me to accept :ugh:

Nevertheless, run spybot and adaware (free downloads) and sort the system out. Could be some :mad: virus as that is the ONLY option left. Otherwise, re-install IE6 or even repair Windows. You dont loose things when you run XP setup again. The desktop items stay in place too!

As you have said that the problem is when using the AOL browser, then the problem probably is in that browser, but having never used it I cant be of much help.

Perhaps re installing the AOL Browser may fix the fault, or use another Browser.

I really appeciate your advice because it is more than what I get from HP. However I have tried what you said and I still get script errors each time I try to print an email from either AOL or Outlook express.

The script error that I receive has a line number of 608 and the URL leads to print preview.

I tried again doing what you said but it still does not work. I have even reinstalled IE.

I was just about to post on this same subject but saw this topic!

I also get the script error box if I try to print off something, such as a Multimap page (that's how I found out). I can print off attachments such as a Word document though.

However, at the same time, my computer has also lost the ability to go to links. A new IE screen / box appears when a link is clicked, but there is nothing in the address bar and the page stays blank.

It seems to have happened since Windows XP self-installed an automatic download a couple of days ago but it could be a coincidence.

I can't click on any links to go to download pages so it's a big problem. I do have an antivirus programme installed and operational.

Welcome aboard Shy Torque. Dont be shy in trying all the things I have suggested to HB.

HB. Had a though. Try rolling back to a system restore point. You can access the feature through Start, access, system. Read it to learn some about it. If you can roll back maybe 1 month or so, it might correct a hidden problem.

I also discovered recently that IE does not like to allow things to print when a certain word appears in the HTML text. It is a regular word, and I read somewhere on the cure.

I'll post this to let you know I'm still searching! I need the crumpets you see!!! :} :E

P.S, Sorry about the French strike. Its a public holiday here in France today, so bugger all was working, or just doordling along like our metro system in Rouen. Back to work today though for you! :ouch:
