XP_on replacement computer
 

Question o Geeky ones....

I have run XP (pro) on a lap top for several years, with no problem.

Then the lap top went for a swim.

So I eventually determined to reload on another lap top, (which I own), with 98 as the OS.

All went well until the attempt to register...Spoke to nice man in New Delhi, who said as new computer, I need to speak to technical services. M-F 8-18. English time...

The outcome is that I need to buy a new OS. They say that the OS was a beta copy.....

They have the ultimate control..

Does anyone have a licenced, and unused copy of XP, (that is not in use, and at a good price...

Or better still the answer to the problem.
