Cheap re-conditioned laptops
Does anyone know anywhere that does older cheaper laptops? A relative who is not that computer literate just needs a machine to run explorer, word and other basic programs but dows not need DVD/CD-RW etc. She would like a laptop but does not need to or want to pay a lot for it as she does not need the speed and specs of modern laptops.
Any Ideas |
Buy the cheap-ish weekly magazine 'Computer Mart'. It's mostly ads for for PC & component sales mobs. There's always a bunch of them in there who focus on 2nd hand/recon laptops.
I think the magazine is also online. Correction! The magazine is 'MicroMart'. Been a year or so since I was last in the UK & saw the magazine... |

Morgan Computers are regular advertisers in Comp. Mart.
Correction: The magazine is 'MicroMart', not Computer Mart. My error. |
Ebay!
now ill just waffle on a bit so that it will let me post it, just be careful on ebay, im sure your not thick, just be careful! |
Also this company, they have the sole rights on reconditioning all Fujitsu Seimens computers in the UK. There's come with a Gaurantee.
Buy 24/7 |
Thanks all for the suggestions, however having had a look at the sites they are still too high spec for my relative. Literally all she needs is a CD drive and a bit faster processor and modem.
Is e-bay the only way to go? I would also want it to be cheaper - i.e. less than £200. |
I'm pretty sure you'll find something to suit in MicroMart. There's always loads of cheap & cheapish stuff in there.
