elonex networking problem
 

Hi,

i'm trying to network two elonex cy27notebooks with realtek network adaptors. i've set up a workgroup but they dont see each other.

Anybody any ideas

Disable the firewalls and have another go - this works for me sometimes..

How are you networking?

Are you using a hub? or connecting them to each other? if the latter, you need a crossover cable rather than a normal network cable

Check their IP addresses, they should be set to be using the same subnet

i.e. if the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 then the first three octets of the IP address should be the same i.e. 192.168.0.X

X being any number from 1 to 254

Let me know as much info as possible and your level of knowledge, and I'll try to help more

What OS are you using?

Depending on the OS, you need to share a directory for the other computer to see it.
