Laptop Standby and AOL

Whenever I go to close the lid on my lappie, it goes on standby, which in turn cuts me off from AOL and stops any long downloads I have on the go.

Is there any way to get around this?

Go to Control Panel and then Power Options. You will find the option you require if you flick through the various tabs.
