Excel spredsheet tech log
 

I have been trying to build an excel spredsheet tech log and the problem that I have is the program won't work with time above 23:59.
For instance if you put in 50:00 it is instantly converted to 02:00.

Do any of you know how to add and subtract hours & min values of greater than 23:59 ?.

Use a custom format for the required cells of

[hh]:mm

which should do the trick.

Yes, I agree with the Nr Fairy - at the moment Excel thinks you mean the time of day.

I know that the [h]:mm:ss format makes Excel rollover the hours instead of treating it as the time of day. Using Format, Cells, Number Tab, choose Custom and scroll down to near the bottom, where the [h]:mm:ss format is.

I've never tried [hh]:mm. Also, don't forget to add a 0 (zero) if your time is less than 1 hour.
