Voice Recognition Software

Can anyone recommend a good voice recognition program for "everyday" type words? I see from a search that Dragon's Naturally Speaking software was liked but am hoping to get some up to date advice. I presume the recognition software ports the text into a program such as Word.

Thanks,

The latest version of the Dragon program was demo'd on one of the tele auction sites and supposedly could take 160 wpm with very little training.
Would take that with a large pinch of salt but I've just obtained N S v5 and hope to give it a whirl soon.
The main problem with previous attempts (IBM's ??? Gold??) was that the mic needed an in-line amplifier which was not included and appears to be unavailable:(

Fujiflyer,

Dragon is still the leader. Their professional packages for Doctors, Lawyers, etc. are excellent.

Here is a list from a search on voice recognition. You might find something in there you could use in place of Dragon. ;)

Take Care,

Richard

I know someone who uses Dragon for 99% of their PC use and gets excellent results. I use L&H VoiceXpress for document compilation and it works well.

What you get out equates to what you put in though, You need to feed them with "stories" for correct set-up, called "training". You also need to learn the way it takes commands, for example, in OE a click on Send/Recv equates to, Tools, Send and Receive, Send and Receive All.
