one for the clever
I have set up another email address.
This can be used to to send mail and can be viewed under mail tab. It shows under properties. But the emails into this address do not appear in the inbox of outlook express 6. Got any ideas folks? |
Capn Notarious,
I am not sure if I follow what you are asking. If you do not see email from the second account when you check mail then: This behavior can occur if Outlook Express is not configured to include all of the accounts when you check for new messages and send outgoing messages. To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
When an account is not configured to be included when you check for new messages and send outgoing messages, and you click Send And Receive on the Tools menu, all messages in the Outbox for that account is sent, but messages may not be delivered to the Inbox. Take Care, Richard |
Just to add to NAP's post - does the email setting appear when you expand 'send/receive' on the top bar? If it does, what happens when you click on this name? If it shows a box saying 'connecting to....' and you do not get an error message, NAP's solution will sort it. If you get either nothing or an error message, the problem lies deeper.

Capn Notarious,
Where are we at now? Take Care, Richard |
Well I ticked the boxes and checked and checked but no error messages. The account sends and does not recieve and yet Iknow that the maill has leftl
The local wx is overcast windy blowing the leaves about. |
What about the tumbleweed?:D
We are a bit thin on info here. 1) Does the 'address' show in the 'receive' drop-down 2) Assuming you have set it up correctly it will, so exactly what happens when you click on it? 3) What are the settings you have entered under 'Tools'/'Accounts'/'Properties'/'Servers'? PS WE do NOT need your password:D |
Have you mis-typed the POP server name, for example, pop,virgin.net (ie: a comma instead of a stop). Or spelt something wrong there?
Presumably the smtp is done correctly, as you can send. (pop = receive, smtp = send) |
