Windows MP 10b
I downloaded windows media player 10b from microsoft. I now cant uninstall it. Its driving me insane. There is no uninstall option. You cant fool it and try to install WMP9 as it says a later version is already installed. You cant uninstall it as it just doesnt leave!
I cant find help on the website. I suppose it is my fault for downloading a beta testing version with bugs. But still  ANY Ideas? I have tried everything within my abilities. Im on XP Pro. (And yes I have tried system restores. Infact, it doesnt work at all! I am sure that would help, so as a second question...why does my system restore not work!!).. Dan |
use System Restore tool. (Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.) Select the restore points till you find the one where it was installed, then roll back to the one before it.

I mentioned I had tried that, and it did not work.
I have found a patch online and someone told me a line to type in the start-->run box and it deleted everything to do with WMP and now I can start again, and install WMP 9 instead of 10. Thanks, Dan |
Dan,
M$ had the same kind of problems when WMP9 was still in beta too. Take Care, Richard |
