Removing programs??

How do I remove all traces of a program from my computer?

I'm trying to remove Norton Systemworks 2003.
I've used the add/remove programs function but it doesn't remove everything.

I'm using Windows 98 on that computer.

Bronx,

You can use Windows Explorer to remove the directory in Program Files.

As for the Registry, you can go though and look for Symantec and Norton entries. (Before doing anything to your registry, make sure you back it up.)

Take Care,

Richard

P.S. The best way to get everything out is to do a fresh install from the CABs. ;)

It may not be removing it properly if it has been corrupted. You may find that if you install it fully over the old version then use the uninstaller in the program files directory then you will be able to remove it totally from your pc. Then again you may find that doesn't help at all. ;)

I've just had to do that for Norton System Works 2004 (running under Windows ME). Symantec's support site has a pretty good blow by blow account of how to remove their products manually. There is a little more to it than casually removing bits from the Registry. Go to this bit for the full SP or do a search for Document ID:2001090708472107 - Removing Norton SystemWorks™ 2002 or 2003 from Windows 98/Me after Add/Remove Programs does not work
