random bluetoooth disconnect

Just got my Motorola V525 to work with my Talk Aloud (TM) bluetooth car kit. Goes pretty good, too. But whilst driving along I am now noticing some apparently random events when the mobile screen shows "disconnecting xyz123". I have to manually reunite them again using the soft keys on the car kit.

Questions:

1 What can cause an established bluetooth link to drop out (e.g. strong radio signals from other sources, other bluetooth devices nearby trying to access, etc).

2 I hear that the bluetooth link increases the drain on the mobile battery. This is quite important because in the car kit mode, the mobile (working wirelessly) is not being charged. How much more drain?.

... and should I re-set the mobile so that when I am nowhere near my car, it does not automatically go looking to pair up with my car kit (or soemone else's laptop).

3 Where is a good place to go for a layman's guide to Bluetooth operations, covering these sort of issues.
