Homepage problems
Anyone help me with this one?
New computer, windows XP home, and every time I logon to the internet I get a search page - never the homepage that I've set through the "internet options" window (via tools on the toolbar). I do know how to reset the homepage, but this computer just ain't having it.  Am I missing something blindingly obvious here? |
Please check out the sticky at the top of the page.

WK - it would help if you said which 'search page' you are getting. There is a thread here about 'mywebsearch'?

Could be your ISP- BT Yahoo does that kind of thing if you install their software.
But it could be spyware/malware as mentioned before. Charles |
White Knight,
It sounds like you have some sort of Malware in your computer. The sticky above will tell you how to get rid of it. Take Care, Richard |
Thanks folks - whatever it was ,was so bad I couldn't download anything or get any programs running at all. It took a complete formatting and reinstallation of XP:( :(
Have now got various spykiller stuff now, hopefullt that should keep the bu**ers out:ok: |
White Knight,
Think of it as a learning experience. Now you know what to look for when you first start seeing the symptoms. ;) Take Care, Richard |
