Midi to MP3??

Something strange has happened,I downloaded some music files they were in MP3 format, I know this for certain because I played them a few times.
Now all the files I downloaded from that particular website have changed, the icon look like small folders with red covers on em. if I click on properties it says "Midi ", if I try and run them I get the message
" There is no script engine for file extension Midi"
Dunno how this happened, I have lots of other MP3 files in that folder it just seems to be the ones I down loaded from that particular website.
It may have been me messing about trying to open some text files from the same website I suppose,
Anyway, the question
How can I convert Midi files back to MP3 format or is that not possible???
Have been really bending you chaps ears recently, sorry.

Thanks BRL found that will convert those files back to MP3 but they all appear to want coin of the realm to download them.
Will see if I can find the website I downloaded them from originaly, although god knows which one it is I surfed dozens of websites looking for them, should have saved it in favorites I suppose.
Nevermind will plot on with my search.
Thanks BRL.
