Broadband speeds on Dial Up

Has anyone any experience of using ONSPEED. I read an article in the current internet advisor magazine which said it genuinely does give around 5x dial up speeds using compression algorithms via their servers for £24.99 per year. http://www.onspeed.com

For those of us in non broadband areas of UK this would be worth the money if it works. Anyone out there using it ?

Sounds to me like a compression algorithm. If you're already using one, I can't see this one can be 5x faster. Remain to be convinced!

Not sure it's worth the annual feel, site like this you probably wont notice any difference at all.

I am very sceptical

Not worth it buddy, go with proper broadband...for 17.99 you can get 1 meg..

Broadband

If you can get proper broadband, go for that instead. I can't yet, so I'm running it on my lap top. Big improvement in speed for bulletin board and text type browsing. Graphics tend to suffer, and at the maximum setting are almost unrecognisable.

Yesterday in a hotel with a 26k connection, I really noticed the difference with it on, as at this speed without it internet usage is painfull.

A good stop gap for the moment, but roll on cheap widespread broadband.
