COM Ports and USB

Hi All

I recently bought an ICOM scanner and i would like to get it connect it to my pc. As it would happens, my pc does not have any com ports available, due to there been none on the mama board. I have USB 2.0 and Windows 2000 so is there such a thing to convert one of my USB ports to the a serial Com Port (9 Pin)?

The cable i have to connect the scanner to the pc is terminated in a 9 pin connection so hence the reason why i need the converter!

Any help would be very much appreciated!

zoink,

Something like this is what you are looking for:

They run around $10.99 in the U.S. Should not be too much more than that in the U.K.

Take Care,

Richard
