Another Music software problem

Hi everyone.

I posted a week ago on the subject of latency problems with Cubasis go! 3.0 and creative soundblaster live! 5.1 soundcards. The issue was the delay between the system despatching audio & the soundcard converting it & putting it out through the speakers meaning that when recording say, guitar over a drumbeat, one experienced an unnaceptable delay on playback - worse than any Atomic Kitten single.

Orac kindly pointed me toward the KX project drivers (known for asio support & low latency) but I can't make them work & what's worse, they've given me the blue screen of death a couple of times.

I would like to know whether Creative have released a set of drivers for the soundcard, (I can't find them on their poorly organised site) or whether my best bet is to trade up to a new soundcard or even get into something like cakewalk.

All replies gratefully Hmmmmm'd over.

Parapunter,

Do me a favor and list all your IRQs and every device on each IRQ. (I think there might be some conflicts in your IRQs that Windows does not see.)

Take Care,

Richard

How do you do that ? I mean, write a statement Soundblaster Drivers and when you click on it, it sends you straight to the website.

Well, The latest is I've got the KX software in & working, but I can't quite get my audio source (guitar) to work in Cubasis - I can hear it monitored through the speakers, but the VST mixer panel shows no level on any audio channel. I'm going to remap the prolog/epilog settings to line2/mic2 settings tonight & see if that works.

If it does, I'll see you guys on TOTP next week:ok:

Richard, not sure how to do what you're asking - I suspect it'll be in device manager settings?

Whiskery,

It's built into the Pprune software. When you're typing a post you have a http button above your text box alongside the @ symbol. Press it, type in the text you want to appear on screen, press OK, then type/paste in the link, then press OK again.

Parapunter,

You can find the list of IRQs in your Device Manager. Under View, choose Recourses by connection.

There are other ways to get your IRQ list from programs like SiSoft Sandra.

Take Care,

Richard
