Outlook Express

I use Outlook Express for business and have a company email address etc.

This morning, for some strange reason, I was asked for my password and user name. It's already saved, and correct, but it came back saying "password rejected"....

Is this possibly just a server problem or something else?

Any ideas and help would be appreciated!

Cheers

Its a good idea always to blame the server for the first few glitches like this. Just re-enter the password again and see if it works.

If it doesn't work, go away for a few hours and try again. Re-enter the password and it most likely will be fine.

homesick rae,

If you have a domain name with email, try one of the other accounts and see if you can log in to one of them. If you cannot then the mail server is probably down.

Take Care,

Richard

In Win9xME if you cancel your windows/network login (even if you don't have a network) any of your saved passwords are not remembered.

If it keeps happening and you can't save the password then you will have to kill your password file.

Reboot to dos and do a dir *.pwl in the c: \windows dir

You should find a version of your user name and the suffix .pwl

Delete that file and restart.

All will (should) return to normal
