How do they manage to trace people anyway. Do they pose as swappers and then get your I.P address when you start downloading?

My personal beef is that a huge amount of music that I have wanted to buy over the past 2 years is no longer available in stores. I enjoy a lot of the commercial dance and techno music but most CD's are no longer available after around 6-8 weeks. I always enquire at the store and staff make enquiries but the answer is always the same - sorry, that CD is no longer in production. So the only chance I have to listen to the music is to download an MP3.

If I could buy the CD I would, unfortunately I have to resort to plan B...

How many producers websites are there where you can be honest ?

For example - can you go to Warner Music and say

" I've downloaded Madonna tracks X,Y,Z from Kazaa. I'm being honest. Here's 5 dollars for each and I want a receipt".
