Duplicate Finding Apps

I'm going through photos and as I'm sure like many people have managed to have various unwanted duplicates taking up space here and there. I looked for some help yesterday to free myself from manually deleting unwanted photos from a large file and tried two different apps in demo form. They seemed to be very good, but (in my case) they were successful in recognising exact copies by file name, but they also marked for deletion 'burst' photos which had consequent file numbers as the same image, although minutely different. I realised that it would take as long to uncheck all the falsely 'marked for deletion' images as it would for me to plough a lonely furrow by manually deleting one by one.

Any recommendations for mac friendly apps used by ppruners and tips on how to make the process easier would be much appreciated.

I've never use a MAC I'm afraid but you want to look for a tool that compares files by their MD5 hash (or similar digital signature). That will find duplicates even if they have different filenames and ignore different files with the same filename.

I haven't tried this, but a quick Google threw up this option: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/duplic...84929789?mt=12
You could also have a look at this list, but it includes some non-free options as well: https://www.bestmaccleaner.com/dupli...inder-for-mac/
