W10 install to new SSD failing...
Hi!
I've decided to revive an old Acer laptop by replacing the HDD with a SSD. I've created a W10 installation USB (and also a DVD) using the media creation tool. The boot order has been changed in the BIOS. All that I get is a square window logo and that's it, whether I use the USB or DVD media. No further progress. A few notes. BIOS is set to Legacy (no option to change to UEFI). Windows version is 64bit (both already installed on old HDD and in created media). ACPI is set in BIOS. Any help appreciated as Google is not being my friend.. |
Sounds like the installer off the boot media is not launching properly / at all? (just a read-back of your question)

Thanks to a suggestion from PPRuNe Dispatcher , I've ended up cloning the old HDD and it's worked perfectly. :)
