Car Tax renewal ok on PC but not on Macbook?

I think I have had this before. When trying to renew car tax using Macbook it does not work (number not recognised or something like that)
However when using (standby) PC - renewal was fine.
Have I missed something?

Are you using Safari? If so, try Firefox. I've come across a few sites that won't work in Safari but are ok with Firefox.

there are many websites that work less well on certain browsers. Sometimes you can’t fill details into a box or get a drop down menu to work. It’s sloppy programming and testing. Usually OK on fruit-based products as the IT bids are Apple fanbois.

All these companies that complain about online sales not being as good as expected should have a think. 10% of users are on Firefox. That’s 10% of their market wiped out if it doesn’t work properly.

car tax is much easier on direct debit. It just goes out every month.

Apple users are a cut above the rest and are not obliged to pay tax for menial things ;-)

As already mentioned, sloppy programming, govt IT strategy where the vast majority are using PC, therefore if not, the system isn't optimally configured to non-PC users. All govt systems, as they are there FOR the people, should work with every possible browser and/or system in general usage.

Thanks everyone. Yes I think it is probably Safari. I find the Macbook Air works all the time so was surprised at the Gov.uk site not working properly. I lazily used the PC instead.
Will try harder next time.

.. so long as you don't mind paying the 10% premium over paying in one hit.
Best bit is with a slightly old car with low emissions, I love renewing by paying £0; not even the option to pay in instalments, has to be the annual amount on one hit every time :-)

I renewed my car tax within the last month using iMac. All went well.

Aaron.
