Google records all your online purchases

If you use G Mail, Google will keep a record of all the stuff you have ever bought online.
Go to
https://myaccount.google.com/purchases
As stated in this week Computer Mag.
You can delete each entry but you must also delete the E Mail.
Likewise if you order Airline tickets and use G Mail, Google will update you Diary on your Android device.
Google also keep this data on other parts of your Google activity...........................................

So I had a look.
Google also recorded an online purchase by someone else who used my gmail address when buying something I would be unlikely to buy, for delivery to somewhere on the far side of the world!

And all gMail is read; note the selection of instant replies and targeted adverts based on interpreted text.

And the US is worried by Huawei !

For a more balanced view, but no less concerning, read ‘Hello World: How to be Human in the Age of the Machine‘ by Hanna Fry
But take care if you buy the book, the transaction will be noted and used somewhere, along with many other hidden data.

I use gmail as my back up email, so only access it about once a month, and I never sign in to google. (Although I have at least one account there).

It does reduce their spying. For instance, I have zero purchases according to them. I will keep it that way.

This browser might be of interest. Nothing is perfect:

That "browser" isn't a browser it's a search engine :)

I stand corrected.

Protonmail (https://protonmail.com/) seems like a reasonable alternative to gmail.
