Google Drive or One Drive
Could I ask the experts amongst you which 'cloud' staorage is the better; Google Drive or MS's One Drive.
I have tried to come to a conclusion myself, having done a fair amount of research, but each system has good and bad points. I am looking to keep around 1TB on the 'cloud' if that is of any significance. I am just trying to cover the possibility of a disc failure, although I back-up most data to external drives, but they are near my computer, so are not immune to a fire or theft. Thanks for your input. Gehenna |
Have you considered Drop Box ?

Does anyone really trust these "cloud" services ? Paranoid ? Moi ?

I don't "trust" "them" to keep my information from possible hackers, despite their protestations to the contrary.

My setup (Win10 environment, Android phone)
MS Account for OS log-on. One Drive active, nothing stored in local Document folders at all. Seamless background transfer between the desktop and laptop. One Drive App on the phone and iPad too. Photos/pictures sync OFF. Microsoft email account used for very official chores, and airline tickets. Gmail account for personal use, family and friends. Google Photos service for all image related tasks, app on the iPad. |
Seconded. Forgot to add that I dropped Dropbox after having arrived at the above config. Google Photos and OndDrive apps (supports offline) on both the iPad and Android phone, plus GoodReader that syncs some of the essential folders to iPad. I do use Google Calendar service quite a lot, mostly due to ease of sharing with other google users.
