Most searches for BBC show plenty of accessible routes to the news, but none give the list as a drop-down of simple one liner links.
Even the Bookmarks folder has neatly been removed from where it's been for years. |
Saab, sorry, I did look at your sites and at my Add ons etc. What I can't seem to do is run a test of Flash player. Odd.
PJD1 I had a bookmark which took me to a BBC dropdown menu that listed world news as one line links. It would mark those read with a highlighted image on the left. I can get BBC news in all kinds of formats, but I could check 50 or so items for interest with a moment's glance. I have had to reinstate this before, but I just found it with a google search and bookmarked it. Simple as that. It's as though that service has been removed, but with it, FF's function of bookmarking it. |
This is from a site where people are beset with the same problem. However, I get this far and after that the subject becomes circular.

Ah I think you are referring to live bookmarks and RSS feeds, these have indeed been removed from Firefox, see the article here https://www.ghacks.net/2018/07/25/mo...-from-firefox/
I never used them myself and apparently very few people did. |
There are quite a few RSS feed add-ons available for Firefox that might give you the functionality you are looking for https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/fir...=windows&q=rss

That looks like bad news for me. My hearing was severely damaged c 2 years ago and catching news items on FF was a godsend.
I've looked at RSS feeds and just kind of given up. So much time is lost on issues like this. Medical issues have seen my Quora reads take a nosedive and that had promised to be a source of income - much to my surprise. My wife and I spent teatime discussing early operating systems and word processors. We made a chunk of change making PCs do wonderful things with DOS. Display write 2 is more in my era. I can see that the facility was a high maintenance issue but I find it hard to believe it wasn't used much. Ho-hum. |
