Download Old Posts ?
 

Hi,

Apologies if this has been answered before, but is there a way to download all previous posts as a file, either plain text, pdf or zip compressed ?. I can do a search and find them all, but there seems to be no way to download them as a set for local archive purposes...

If I click on archive, it just takes me to a pda version of the main index, so looks like a broken link. Ideally, this should be within the search function, as I can search using a variety of criteria, so the code is in the system. There's just no download button button within that. search page. Pretty clunky at the mo, so will it get fixed, please :-) ?...

Thread tools, show printable version is the closest I know of...

There is a great tool to do this HTTrack, available for Windows, Linux and Mac (instructions on download page). Works very well, however, make sure you have good bandwidth (probably an option to limit it's use) and have PLENTY of spare space on the target drive. Pprune could be hundreds of gigabytes or more.

Try doing a few tests on small sites before letting it loose on pprune. Depending upon your bandwidth, it could take somewhere between hours & weeks. It is a powerful tool, you might want to read the manual and What NOT to do before using it as some site administrators might interpret it's use as a Denial Of Service attack if you don't limit the bandwidth.
