Non Hosted BBC I Player

I was with Talk Talk and I upgraded to optical with an Youview box. The optical connection was never very satisfactory so when the contract expired I changed to PlusNet because it was a lot cheaper. Co-incidental with that there were a lot of road works nearby where they were laying optical fibre. A week of disruption and, bingo, everything came on line at 15mbs plus.

I now have this box with IPlayer, ITV, 4 something and Demand 5. Can this be jumped into Plusnet or does it only work with TalkTalk? The same with the router. It would be convenient to rig it in another part of the house because there is a two foot granite wall running through the middle of it which is not conducive to Wi Fi. When the house was rebuilt I had telephone points put in every bedroom so there is a point available for it to access the telephone line.

Any ideas or do I just bin them.

As long as the YouView box doesn't need a subscription to work it should be fine.

Regards the router, you can't plug two routers into two phone sockets on one line and have them work, however you can plug one router into the other as long as the one being plugged in can be set to work as a wireless access point, depends on the router how easy this is to do! Needs a length of ethernet cable to connect them (or powering adapters).
I have this setup at home, one downstairs one up, kids use the upstairs one and can be cut off if they misbehave!

As Andytug said YouView box should be fine.

I expect you won't get the cheapo TalkTalk box to be a WAP, they tend not to like it. You might want to investigate homeplugs.
