Convert to PDF Solution Required
I recently lost my computer hard drive and paid to have the data recovered. This saved an awful lot of time restoring lost files. However, one consequence was the loss of a program which converted Outlook emails to pdf. A friend recommended that pdf converter program from www.tucows.com but in keeping with many freeware programs, it decided to install a new internet browser toolbar, etc, all of which I did not want!
Therefore, can someone recommend a freeware program which will convert Outlook messages and MS Word to pdf? I'm aware later versions of MS Office, i.e. Word and Outlook will a convert to pdf option but I'm running 2007. I'm slightly loathed upgrading to later versions, as one, if it ain't broke don't fix it and second, I don't wish to make Bill Gates richer than he already is. Any advice is most welcome. |

PDF Creator is free, open source. It installs as a printer driver. I've not used it recently and a quick look at the forums suggests there are issues. The free version of Bullzip may also meet your needs: FREE PDF Printer |
I'm using Office 2007 under W8, and both Word and Excel have the option to "Save As" a PDF or XPS file.

Heh... that's got to be the simpler solution :O

Been using CutePDF Writer for several years successfully. Just setup as one of the printer options.
CutePDF :: Product :: CutePDF Writer Also have an older version of Acrobat (licensed) which I use to insert pdf pages or join pdf documents. |
I use PDF Creator regularly, its very easy to use.

OpenOffice / LibreOffice will generally directly produce a PDF of whatever you are working on if you click the correct place on their command bar (at the top).

I tried several of the freebie options. They all worked.
CutePDF was the easiest, no-faff solution. It pretends to be a printer, and then asks where you want the file saved. It's never misbehaved for me, and I've been using it quite a lot for a fair few years. |
Another vote for Cute PDF, its simple and it works.

Another one
from me:
I currently use bullzip pdf printer without issues so far. All the best. |
I would just like to thank everyone for their replies. I will try some of the suggested solutions. Thanks also to FullOppositeRudder for highlighting there is a save as pdf option in Word (2007). This proved useful this week.
Of course, once we have solved this little saga, I will turn my attention to the mobile phone. I fear this won't be as easy to resolve! |
Adobe Acrobat has a plugin for Outlook allowing for mass export of emails into PDF format.
