.ov2 files for satnav

I have been sent some POI files which I have converted to .OV2 to put them on a TomTom Go930T satnav. Spent hours trying to transfer them without success, am I missing something?
Thanks

Depends how you're doing it.
Tomtom home is not ridiculously difficult to use, but the simplest way is to couple the TT to your PC and navigate to the folder with the maps in, and plonk the OV files there. Should then be recognised.

Unless, of course, they've revised the folder structure of the latest GO series. But that is how it works both with my '520 and her '930

What goes wrong?

Thanks Jim

Yes it does look really simple, somehow though the unit is not finding the files I have saved, I have a feeling I must have forgotten to do something,I transferred some other files earlier and it was a piece of cake, let's try again!!

It feels a bit like walking through a door but I haven't unlocked something?

you are putting them in the map folder?
Never used home to add POI's just a straight file transfer to the map.
Had a TT for many years, but as the new ones don't accept 3rd party POI's, i.e. speed cameras, I've now got a Garmin.

if you are using windows, do you have "hide extensions for known file types" un-ticked? Its in control panel>folder options>view

Now that is something I didn't think of - thanks both!

I thought the 'Go' series wasn't upgradable as it was Linux based and not x86?

TT do occasionally offer upgrades for downloading via their 'Home' app. My 520 now behaves like a 550.
However, I've never bothered to dig into what's happening - just accepted what is on offer; never let me down yet.
Perhaps I shouldn't have said that last bit...
