Flash 'in the pan'?
More and more anxiety over vulnerabilities with Flash. Firefox recently disabled the plug-in until the latest update was issued.

In a word ... HTML5
|
Well, saw this today:
Flash Player Plugin 18.0.0.203 (click-to-play) has been blocked for your protection. Ooops forgot to mention FF39.0. |
I know flash has been causing a lot of probs to many including myself, but is HTML5 a simple fix it for all and do I just download it and run it or what?
win 7 and FF39 |
It's whether your browser supports html5, here's a test:
https://html5test.com/ I got a good result from a cranky old library xp machine running chrome. Folk saying will not work with FF39. You need to install chrome. YouTube gives you the option to use html5. |
Interesting, I score 467/555 points. Will give it a try, but I see it doesn`t support streaming. Don`t want anything to do with giggle chrome. :=
|
FF39 scores 452/555, using the link above.
IE11, OTOH, only scores 341, on the same PC. I'm sticking with FF39 for the moment. SD |
All I know is something is broke and I didn't break it. I'm p!ssed off.
|
I'm fairly certain html5 will be full of holes too. Java, FF and now Flash. Why can't the authors go over their own source code looking for security bugs? Should be easier than decompiling or whatever, looking at the machine code.
|
Flash doesn't work on my tablet. If I can't see some sites video/ads, well that's their problem, not mine.
|
W7 FF35 445/555 score.

Before you guys write off HTML5, do a search to learn what it is and who has developed it. My link above may be a starting point.

Win 7, aged Celeron, FF 39.0, = 467 / 555
