Google say is sorry
 
Every time I insert a term on the Google window at the address bar of my Firefox (38.0.1) browser, and Window 8 since this morning, I get the following message:
" We're sorry...

... but your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now.
See Google Help for more information."

If I go through the Google site it works fine.

I have run the anti-virus, the malware remove program and I have cleaned the Cache memory. Any ideas what to might be?

Assuming you are using the embedded google search function on the top address bar. These add ons or plugins sometimes require updating and not all of them are coded by Mozilla directly. You may need to try and update the plugin/add on.

Having said that try this first.
Go to tools > options > private data > clear now > check cookies > clear private data now

The above seems to set my Firefox straight.

I've just tried it on my 7 home prem FF 37.0.2 and it worked fine. I am not signed in to google.

Yes, its your fault. :E

Generally, the answer is one of the following :

(a) You have a virus on your computer
(b) Someone on your home network has a virus on their computer
(c) Someone is using your home network for nefarious means (hello WiFi :cool:)

or, more rarely

(d) Your Google-fu is of high quality and Google can't tell the difference between you and a fancy algorithm. I have fallen into this category once or twice when doing "desktop research" projects. However, generally if you fall into this category, you will be presented a CAPTCHA alongside the error message.

But basically, you need to fix the cause, because if you don't, Google's systems will keep on complaining.

Romeo Hotel,

I like to use your suggestion (thanks to all by the way). However after options I can't find Private data. Should I go to the privacy tab and erase cookies?

Mixture, I have run the antivirus and the anti malaware project and they show all clear.

Thanks again for the previous and current suggestions.

Yes deleting the cookies and cache should stop the multiple requests going to Google. All sorts of malware can attach to cookies and effectively spam behind the scenes.

Quite common on Firefox as the multiple add ons and plugins enable scammers to do all sorts of nasty things.
