Gmail problem

For the last few days Gmail has been warning that hackers may be attacking my mail and it is not private. Continuous clicking on the Reload button offered gets nowhere and it doesn't open..

The only clue I can see to the problem is that there is a red line through the https in the addressbar (srware Iron)

Any suggestions?

A red line through the https on your address bar ... on gmail .... hmmm... doesn't sound good for you. Google doesn't do untrusted SSL certs, so you might well have something on your computer (or elsewhere on your network) doing a MITM attack

I would say assume you've been compromised, use your smartphone or another trusted device on an independent internet connection (e.g. mobile 3G) to change your gmail password pronto (if not all of your critical passwords !).

Do you have a screenshot of said warning and address bar ? Feel free to blur out anything sensitive before uploading. :E

You're using a Chrome variant. Chrome now marks SHA-1 certs as insecure.

Thanks for the replies.

Being short of time today all I've done was trying an ancient version of FF to open it. Gmail complained about the browser version but opened the mailbox no problem!.

Perhaps Bushfiva has the answer?

Maybe, but it would smack of extreme irony that a Google browser is marking a Google service as untrusted !

Ironic maybe but a fresh install of Iron appears to have fixed the problem.
