Can't watch YouTube videos - LiveLeak & Vimeo OK

For some time now YouTube videos start then stop, saying that there is an error.

Using a 4-processor Intel computer running 64 bit Win7 and Firefox Beta, both kept up to date.

Tried lots of things advised on the internet but to no avail, run system cleaners, etc.

In desperation I even downloaded Internet Explorer; that worked the first time but now gives the same error!

'LiveLeak' videos work, but Youtube videos watched on LiveLeak have the same problem. :ugh::sad::mad:

Any and all advice appreciated.

PS Just updated all the system & video drivers but this had no effect.

Remove and re-install the latest version of Flash ?

Screen just goes into noise with "An error occurred, please try again later"

I had Flash set to auto update but have now uninstalled and reinstalled it - no difference.

Will bin IE and try Chrome.

This is an on-going problem related to Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) There are several work arounds. Try Giggle.
Here's a link to start with.
Preload Entire YouTube Videos By Disabling Dash Playback

I tried a few work arounds with varying success, and when Youtube is being un co-operative I use VLC media player.
VLCApp | VLC Media Player Free Download
Select Media->Open Network Stream, paste a YouTube URL, and click Play

In addition to this useful trait, VLC media player will also play any format you throw at it. :ok:

I now have Chrome and that is working (for the moment).

I already have VLC so will try the 'paste url' trick in Firefox.

Thanks to all. :ok:
