Iconix email certification in OE/XP SPŁ

Up to now, this has run ok on my machine, bringing up a small 'Iconix' mx box where applicable. Since the re-install of Office 2010 (or some M$ upgrade) I now get a 1/3 white box full-height on the left of the relevant email declaring in html that the certificate is being 'loaded' - lasts for a few seconds. Can I get rid of this?

Microsoft have changed the minimum standard for encryption certs to 1024 bits. Could that be it?
I don't know much about it - just noticed a post on The Register last week
Microsoft: 'Update your security certs this month ? or else' ? The Register

Don't think so - starts October from the that link. I think I'll just look away from the screen for a few seconds :)
