Hanging, freezing posting page.
 

If, when composing a post it takes me any more than thirty seconds, the page hangs when I click the Preview or Submit buttons. The "connecting" message appears in the top left corner and I have been reduced to copying what I have typed, then logging back in and pasting my text into a fresh posting box quickly before clicking to preview or submit again.

The problem first appeared a week ago on my old machine running XP and Firefox. I recently traded up to a new machine and am now using Windows 7, again with Firefox.

It doesn't occur on any other forums I use.

I'd be looking at your ISP or your router.

Something may be closing off a TCP port mid-stream.

The same thing happened to me earlier this week. (7/64, Firefox). I can't remember whether it was before or after Win did 3,764 updates. (Oh, all right, I exagerate).

As ever with IT, it got better after I turned pc off and back on. Not seen it since.
